DARLING’S FOOD FOR THOUGHT
It’s Not About Aesthetic, Elevation Is A Mindset.
As black women, I enjoy seeing when we decide to wisely choose who we allow to influence us especially on social media.
Ever since I decided to filter my feed and alter my algorithm to only present the women or content that will refill me creatively and even mentally my existence has changed.
As black women it is already expected of us to show up vulgar and demeaning. The expectation of being a black person has always been poor. You see how we are treated time after time. Which is why how we present ourselves is important.
Being well mannered, put together, carrying yourself with grace and class as a black woman is just the start of the elevation we deserve. It all starts with what you’re influenced by.
A task for you today is to dissect what your social media intake is and think about yourself in the long run. Is that really what you want life to be like? Then begin to change the things you’re watching, reading and listening to.
With Love, Dani
